Outstanding original glossy 5.25 x 7.5 mounted cabinet-style photo of William F. 'Buffalo Bill' Cody wearing a cowboy hat and ornately decorated buckskin jacket, signed in the upper right corner in ink, "Compliments, W. F. Cody, 'Buffalo Bill,' 1897." Affixed to its original studio mount, blindstamped: "Extra Finish, Stacy, 5th Ave. & 9th Ave., Brooklyn, N.Y." Annotated at the top in ink: Given to me by Buffalo Bill, Emil Bong—Aurora Zouave." In fine condition, with two rusty staple marks toward the top edge.
