Pioneering French microbiologist and chemist (1822–1895) who demonstrated the germ theory of disease and developed the first vaccine against rabies. Scarce 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet photo of the celebrated scientist by Nadar of Paris, signed on the mount in ink, "L. Pasteur." In very good to fine condition, with small stains, light scuffing and soiling, and some minor edge chipping.
