(Walt Disney Studios, 1946) Original concept storyboard drawing for ‘The Martins and the Coys,’ the opening segment of the musical anthology film Make Mine Music, which shows a detailed interior view of a rustic cabin and its inhabitants: two men are shown drinking at a small table near a cutting board with a bottle and produce, a trio of chickens peck at the floor while two birds perch on the rail of a broken window, and a third man is shown relaxing in a rocking chair with a gun on his lap as a nearby fire warms a hanging cooking pot. Accomplished in graphite on 10 x 7.25 artist paper, matted and framed to an overall size of 21.5 x 17.5. In fine condition. An impressively rendered, high-detail concept drawing from Make Mine Music, the last of three package films produced by Disney when the studio’s art department was diminished due to World War II drafting.
