He is most famous for setting the agenda of British colonial, foreign, tariff and municipal policies, and for deeply splitting both major political parties. ALS signed “J. Chamberlain,” one page both sides, 4.5 x 7, 40 Prince's Gardens letterhead, April 8, 1907. Handwritten letter regarding his views on the Boer War, in part: "The general attitude of the country during the war has from the first been most patriotic & encouraging. I feel sure that the constancy they have shown will in the long run be fully rewarded." In fine condition, with light creasing and soiling .
