French physicist (1892–1987) known for his theory that matter has the properties of both particles and waves, who was awarded the 1929 Nobel Prize in Physics. ALS in French, one page both sides, 6 x 3.75, October 31, 1965. Handwritten letter to a colleague, responding to an inquiry about a bibliographic citation. Broglie explains, in small part (translated): "At the time when the experiment proposed by Schrodinger was done, I was aware of it." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in de Broglie's hand and incorporating his full name on the flap.
