Description

"The Jubilee Fund is not for pensions, but for the education and employment of Nurses for the Sick Poor in their homes"

Important English surgeon and pathologist (1814-1899). Third-person ANS, one page, 4.5 x 7, 1 Harewood Place (Hanover Square), April 11, 1889. Handwritten note regarding the use of a nursing fund, in full: “Sir James Paget presents his Compliments to Miss Bolton and regrets that he cannot assist the nurse of whom she writes. The Jubilee Fund is not for pensions, but for the education and employment of Nurses for the Sick Poor in their homes.” In fine condition, with scattered light foxing.

From the personal collection of a lifelong collector, teacher, and traveler with a passion for world history. His collecting years ranged from the 1970s to the present day, meaning that several of the premier pieces have not been on the market in decades.
