Teacher and humanitarian (1821–1912) best known for founding the relief organization the American Red Cross. ALS, one page, 5.5 x 8.75, May 31, 1910. Handwritten letter to "My dear Children," sent from New York. In part: "I have just a moment in which to tell you that…I arrived here last night, must remain until tomorrow night…later to Boston." In very good to fine condition, with irregular toning, and light show-through from an unrelated notation on the back.
