TLS signed “G. W. Carver,” one page, 8.5 x 11, Tuskegee Normal and Industrial Institute letterhead, April 27, 1936. Letter to Louise Smith of Jacksonville, in part: "Please extend to your group of dear young people my greetings. Another slogan which will settle everybody's difficulties regardless of who they are in the physical world is embodied in the statement in Matthew 7-12, which is the Golden Rule: 'Whatsoever ye would that men should do to you do ye even so to them.' Wars would cease, race prejudice, and in fact sordid conditions of all kinds would vanish away, if we could but get this type of real christian grace." In fine condition, with a couple areas of faint toning.
From the personal collection of a lifelong collector, teacher, and traveler with a passion for world history. His collecting years ranged from the 1970s to the present day, meaning that several of the premier pieces have not been on the market in decades.
