Heisenberg,” one page, 8.25 x 11.75, Max Planck Institute letterhead, February 12, 1970. Letter to Professor Albert Theile, in full (translated): "I am completely satisfied with the translation of my obituary for Max Born into Spanish. However, I would like to request that you use the enclosed text, as the version in the FAZ contains a significant typographical error. I agree to the terms of your letter." In fine condition.
Max Born was Heisenberg’s mentor at the University of Göttingen in the early 1920s, where their close collaboration led directly to the formulation of matrix mechanics, the first complete mathematical framework of quantum mechanics. Born immediately recognized the significance of Heisenberg’s breakthrough work and provided its rigorous statistical interpretation, introducing the probabilistic understanding of the wave function that became central to quantum theory.
