Description

ALS signed “G. W. Carver,” one page, 8.5 x 11, Tuskegee Normal and Industrial Institute letterhead, April 29, 1935. Handwritten letter to a gentleman, in part: "Quite true I am greatly surprised to hear from you after all of these years of silence. I have thought of you so very, very often, and wondered what had become of you. I trust you still have the alertness of mind you possessed when we were in school, and brought such admiration from every member of the class." In fine condition, with a small crease to the lower left corner tip, and a short tear to the right edge.

From the personal collection of a lifelong collector, teacher, and traveler with a passion for world history. His collecting years ranged from the 1970s to the present day, meaning that several of the premier pieces have not been on the market in decades.
