French photographer, painter, and poet (1907–1997) who, as a romantic partner of Pablo Picasso, was depicted in a number of his paintings. ALS in French, signed “Dora,” one page both sides, 5.25 x 7, Stafford Hotel letterhead, April 17, [no year]. Handwritten letter to her friend, the Belgian poet Théo Léger, during an exhibition in London, recounting a meeting with the painter Balthus. In part (translated): "I received your letter in London, which I am leaving on Saturday. My exhibition is progressing well, and London is delightful this time. Calm, elegant, and rather more fun than Paris. I visited Oxford, which thrilled me. I saw Balthus passing through. I had dinner with him, Antoinette, and their son. I will tell you all about it in Paris." In fine condition.
