Description

ALS, signed "George Gershwin," one page, 5 x 8.25, personal letterhead, September 27, 1923. Handwritten letter to "Miss Hamill," in full: "How perfectly timed was your kind remembrance. As I opened my eyes on the first morning of my twenty-fifth year (yesterday) I saw your little card dated, London Sept. 18, 1923, & couldn't help but shout 'three cheers for English thoughtfulness.' It was nice of you to remember me. Will you kindly forward my very best to Mr. Eastman." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Gershwin's own hand.
