Outstanding vintage matte-finish 10 x 8 photo of Gershwin posing at his piano, neatly signed and inscribed in the lower border in fountain pen, "To A.S.C.A.P.—In sincere appreciation, George Gershwin.” In fine condition, with a few small creases, and faint silvering to the dark areas of the image. ASCAP, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, was the leading rights-protection organization for American composers, founded in 1914.
