Founding Father, planter, and lawyer (1742–1779) who served as a delegate for South Carolina to the Continental Congress in 1778-79 and signed the Articles of Confederation. Revolutionary War–dated ADS, signed “Wm. H. Drayton,” one page, 7.5 x 2.5, dated 1778. Handwritten receipt for the "sum of one thousand dollars," signed at the conclusion by William Henry Drayton. In good to very good condition, with heavy staining, two small holes, and singing to the left edge.
