Description

Partly-printed DS, one page, 8.5 x 14, July 2, 1971. As governor of California, Ronald Reagan issues a requisition order to the Governor of Maryland, in part: "Under the laws of this State Stephen Woodrow Smith stands convicted with commission of an act or acts in the State of Maryland intentionally resulting in the crime of failure to provide in the State of California, and it has been represented and is satisfactorily shown to me that he is now to be found in the State of Maryland; Now, Therefore, Pursuant to the Laws of the State of Maryland and the laws of the State of California, (Uniform Reciprocal Enforcement of Support Act) in such case made and provided, I do hereby respectfully demand that the said Stephen Woodrow Smith be arrested and secured and delivered to William F. Howell." Signed at the conclusion in blue ballpoint by Governor Ronald Reagan and countersigned by Deputy Patricia E. Vail; also bears the stamped signature of Secretary of State Edmund G. Brown, Jr. The large gold foil seal affixed at the lower left remains intact. In fine condition.
