Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 17 x 13.75, June 19, 1844. President Tyler appoints Jeremiah Towle as "Naval Officer for the District of New York in the State of New York." Boldly signed at the conclusion in ink by President John Tyler, and countersigned by Secretary of the Treasury ad interim McClintock Young. The embossed white paper seal affixed at the lower left remains intact. In very good to fine condition, with scattered staining, and tape reinforcement to separation of the central vertical fold.
