Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 21 x 16, April 2, 1907. President Roosevelt appoints Wilmot E. Ellis as "Major in the Artillery Corps in the service of the United States. Prominently signed at the conclusion in ink by President Theodore Roosevelt—with an impressive 6˝-long signature—and countersigned by Acting Secretary of War Robert Shaw Oliver. The blue War Office seal affixed at the lower left remains fully intact. In very good to fine condition, with intersecting folds, some light soiling, and faint toning.
