ALS signed “George R.,” three pages on two adjoining sheets, 5 x 8, Sandringham, Norfolk letterhead, January 27, 1937. Handwritten letter to Mr. Jellicoe, ostensibly architect Geoffrey Jellicoe, in part: “Many thanks for your letter. I think it would be best if you went on with the excavation of the swimming bath drain now, as I am sure we shall want the bath in that position later. I feel it is better to have the ‘devastated area’ a bit longer now than to have to dig it all up again. Will this work retard the finishing of the sunk garden unduly?” In very fine condition.
