Handwritten letter to the Sisco family, "Miss Sam & Miss Bertha," in part: "Thank you for our belts—I'm speaking for Nancy too—she loves hers. We don't know how you keep topping yourself. Well for that matter we don't know how you perform such artistry with leather. Each belt—to say nothing of the other beautiful things you've made—picture frames, leather chests, spur straps, wall panels etc. all are truly collectors items. We are more than proud of all our belts and only wish we had more occasions to wear them like every day. One thing is certain, the only time we see anyone wearing a belt that can equal ours—it's a belt made by you." In very fine condition, with a faint paperclip impression to the top edge.
Reagan carried on an extensive correspondence with the Sisco sisters—Bertha and Samueline—and their mentally handicapped brother Joseph, nicknamed ‘Buzzy,’ sending them nearly one hundred letters, sketches, and photos between 1972 and 1987; Reagan was introduced to the family when he purchased goods from their leather shop in northern California.
