Handwritten note to "Charles," apparently referring to two of the baseball team's stars—Nolan Ryan and Jose Canseco. In full: "I'm never too busy to write to a ball fan. I'm sorry about Nolan and Jose's failure to respond. They get thousands of letters. Nolan tries hard—I doubt Jose cares very much. The players handle their own signings so there's not much I can do."
