Official gilt-bordered White House “Luncheon” menu for Wednesday, August 8, 1962, 5 x 7.5, signed in black ink as president, “John Kennedy.” In fine condition.

On this date, President John F. Kennedy welcomed participants in the American Institute for Free Labor Development’s inaugural training program for Latin American and Caribbean trade union leaders. Speaking at the White House, he emphasized that free and effective labor unions were essential to democracy and social progress, citing their role in advancing major New Deal reforms. He urged the group to promote both strong union organization and broader economic and social development in their home countries.
