Controversial Austrian visual artist (1928–2000) best known for his fanciful architectural designs. ALS in German, three pages, 8.25 x 11.75, February 28, 1986. Handwritten letter to the art historian Walter Koschatzky, who, together with Janine Kertész, was working on the final editing of a volume about Hundertwasser's printmaking. In part (translated): "Now that I've been working on the book for a month, I can see what an immense achievement you and Janine have accomplished. With such a multifaceted and complex subject as what seems to be my work and my person (I'm sorry). I couldn't express my appreciation earlier because I wanted to work through the data myself as quickly as possible. This will truly be a definitive work on my printmaking and, at the same time, will provide access to a graphic oeuvre using an unprecedented method—unflinching and precisely what puts all other, rather superficial compilations, such as those by Picasso, Chagall, etc., in the shade." In fine condition.
