DS, one page, 8.5 x 11, November 15, 1943. Chandler, hired in May by Paramount Pictures to write the screenplay for Double Indemnity, confirms his release from employment. In full: "This will confirm our understanding that pursuant to your request your employment agreement with the undersigned corporation dated May 12, 1943 is hereby terminated as of November 15, 1943, at the end of said day." Signed at the conclusion in fountain pen by Raymond Chandler, and countersigned by two Paramount officials. In fine condition.
