TLS as president, one page, 7 x 8.75, White House letterhead, December 19, 1922. Letter to H. E. Chubbuck, in full: “Just a line to thank you for the beautiful and extremely satisfactory pipe which you sent me through the kindness of Senator McKinley. I occasionally smoke a pipe and this has been a particularly agreeable one for my purposes.” In fine condition, with strips of light toning to the top and bottom. A crisply signed letter from President Harding, whose tragic death eight months later would shock the nation.
