ALS in German, signed “Ihr, Freud,” one page, 6 x 9, personal letterhead, October 24, 1935. Handwritten letter to a doctor, writing that he does not believe he ever stated that childhood neuroses could act as a protection against psychosis, and this is certainly not his opinion. Further, he politely refuses to contribute an introduction to a book. In full (translated): "Thank you very much for your messages and sending me these. I don't believe I've ever suggested that childhood neuroses can protect against psychosis. It's certainly not my opinion either. As for the requested preface—after the preface to the Princess's Poe book, as similar requests became more frequent, I decided not to publish anything of the sort again. I hope you won't insist that I break this resolution." In fine condition.
