Manchu prince and regent of the late Qing dynasty (1883–1951) who was the father of Puyi, the last emperor of China. Bright red 4.75 x 10 slip imprinted with the name of Zaifeng, Prince Chun II, identified at the bottom in ink: "Prinz Tschun." Presented by Prince Chun as a gift to Anna von Elbe (neé Richthofen), the sister of the German Foreign Secretary Oswald von Richthofen, when he was sent to Germany as a Special Ambassador to offer his regrets for the murder of the German diplomat Clemens von Ketteler during the Boxer Rebellion. In very good to fine condition, with a short tear to the left edge, and a longer repaired tear descending from the top edge.
