Description

London-born member of the prominent Rothschild family of financiers and businessmen (1812–1870) who distinguished himself as a winemaker and owner of the famed estate Château Mouton Rothschild. Unsigned handwritten note in German and French by Nathaniel de Rothschild, penned on one of his personal 4 x 2.25 calling cards, imprinted at the center in an elegant script: "Le Baron Nathaniel de Rothschild." In full (translated): "Would you like to do me the pleasure of meeting you next Saturday the 12th at 7, in a very small group, to dine with me?" In fine condition.
