Original early 19th-century pen-and-ink memorial folk art honoring the late George Washington, 11.25 x 13.5, featuring a tiny pointillist portrait of the first United States president at center, with words impressively scripted amidst Spencerian flourishes: "Sacred to the Memory of George Washington, Born Feb. 22, 1732, Died Dec. 13, 1799, The American Hero and Statesman, Written by Joseph A. Arnold." Framed to an overall size of 15.25 x 17.25. In very good to fine condition, with scattered light staining and somewhat irregular toning.
