Original complete ‘Late City Edition’ issue of The New York Times newspaper from July 21, 1969, Vol. CXVIII, No. 40,721, with historic banner headline: “Men Walk on Moon / Astronauts Land on Plain; Collect Rocks, Plant Flag.” The newspaper measures 25 x 23 unfolded and features various articles and images related to the Apollo 11 mission and mankind’s first lunar landing, including: “Voice from Moon: ‘Eagle Has Landed,’” “A Powdery Surface Is Closely Explored,” “Nixon Makes ‘Most Historic Telephone Call Ever,’” “Lunar Tests May Give Answers to Old Riddles,” “Television Camera Records the Activities of Astronauts on the Landing Area,” and more. Caption to lower right corner of the front page reads: “Today’s 4-Part Issue of The Times: This morning’s issue of The New York Times is divided into four parts. The first part is devoted to news of Apollo 11, and includes Editorials and letters to the Editor (Page 16). Poems on the landing on the moon appear on Page 17.” In very good condition, with toning and scattered wear, which includes small tears and paper loss, namely to the edges and the main horizontal fold.
