Historic display of four wooden fragments removed from the inaugural platforms of Presidents Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George Bush, and Bill Clinton, ranging in size from 4˝ x .75˝ to 5˝ x .75˝, with each fragment bearing a pyrographic inscription: “Carter – Mondale, Inaugural Platform Wood, 20 Jan. 1977,” “Reagan – Bush, Inaugural Platform Wood U. S. Capitol, Wash. D.C. January 20, 1981,” “Bush – Quayle, Inaugural Platform Wood 20 Jan. 1989,” and “Clinton – Gore, Inaugural Platform Wood, 20 Jan. 1993.” All four pieces are nailed to a wooden presentation mount, 12˝ x 8˝, with a central medallion featuring an embossed patriotic design of the U. S. Capitol. The reverse is annotated in black felt tip, “Craftsmanship, Wells & Riddle, Feb. 28, 1993, U. S. Capitol.” In fine condition.
