TLS signed “Wm. H. Taft,” one page, 8 x 10.5, Supreme Court of the United States letterhead, February 13, 1925. Letter to Frederic A. Delano, in part: "Thank you very much for your kindly acceptance of the Chairmanship. I sincerely hope that you will be relieved from any real work in connection with it. I have asked Mr. W. P. Smith Jr., who is charge of the work in Washington, to come and see you at your convenience." He adds a handwritten postscript signed with his initials, "W.H.T.," in full: "My personal obligation to you for this is very great." In fine condition, with a block of faint toning to the lower right corner.
