He is widely regarded as the first Korean American film actor in Hollywood. Vintage matte-finish 8 x 10 portrait photo of Ahn holding a cigarette near his face, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To Paul Wilken, Best wishes from Philip Ahn," who adds Korean characters below.
