American racing driver (born 1902) who served as president of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway from 1945 until his death in 1954; he won the Indianapolis 500 race three times, in 1937, 1939, and 1940. Vintage glossy 10 x 8 photo of 'The Champ' Wilbur Shaw sitting in his car at the Indianapolis Speedway in 1940, signed and inscribed in black fountain pen, "Sincerely, Wilbur Shaw.” In very good to fine condition, with old clear tape to the corners, and vertical creases passing through the front of the car.
