Vintage matte-finish 10.25 x 7.5 group photo of eighteen members of the heroic Soviet space program, attractively signed in various colored inks by twelve cosmonauts, including: Pavel Popovich, Anatoly Filipchenko, Alexei Leonov, Vladimir Shatalov, Georgy Beregovoy, Valentina Tereshkova, Viktor Gorbatko, Andriyan Nikolayev, Yevgeny Khrunov, Georgy Shonin, Gherman Titov, and Valery Bykovsky. In very fine condition.
The consignor notes that the photo was obtained from the family of retired Lieutenant General Valentin Shchelkaev, a veteran of the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center and the Space Flight Control Center, Doctor of Technical Sciences, and academician of the K.E. Tsiolkovsky Academy of Cosmonautics. General Valentin Shchelkaev trained cosmonauts in Zvezdny Gorodok and was a close friend of Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space.
