Description

LS in French, signed “Lafayette,” one page, 7.25 x 9, July 13, 1831. Letter signed by Lafayette to Madame Armande Roland, addressed on the integral leaf in another hand. In part (translated): "I'm very touched, Madame, of the good and a generous letter that you sent me. And I ask you to please believe that I attach much value to your support, and for the kind expressions of it. Here I am again in the legislative career for another session that may turn out to be very important for Liberty, as well as for the honor and the well-being of France." In very good to fine condition, with a few stains, overall creasing, and seal-related paper loss to the integral address leaf.
