United States Army officer and paratrooper (1922–199) who was the subject of a famous World War II photograph of Eisenhower speaking to the paratroopers of the 101st Airborne Division the night before D-Day. FDC with a cachet honoring "Airborne Units Spearhead Ground Attacks," signed in black felt tip, "Wallace Strobel, 1st Lt. Co. E, 502nd Parachute Inf. Reg., 101st A/B Division, WWII." Affixed to an 8.25 x 11.75 sheet imprinted with the famous image. In very fine condition.
