Pioneering aviation engineer (1889-1972) who developed the first four-engine airplane and the first modern helicopter to be put into widespread use. Color 5.25 x 3.25 postcard depicting the "Sikorsky Helicopter," signed in fountain pen by its creator, "I. Sikorsky, Sept. 25, 1944." Reverse bears a typed notation: "This postal card was carried on the last flight of the original Sikorsky Helicopter, VS-300—Dearborn, Michigan." In fine condition, with a fleck of surface loss below the date.
