Confederate spy (1844-1900) during the American Civil War who provided valuable information to Confederate General Stonewall Jackson. Scarce ink signature, "Yours truly, Belle Boyd, The Rebel Spy,” on an off-white 3.75 x 2.25 sheet. In fine condition. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA. Known as the ‘Cleopatra of the Secession,’ Boyd was a Confederate spy in the Civil War who operated from her father's hotel in Virginia and provided valuable information to Confederate General Stonewall Jackson in 1862. After marrying Nathaniel Rue High—her third husband—in the mid-1880s, Boyd toured the United States giving dramatic lectures about her life as a spy. An exceedingly rare Civil War autograph from one of the conflict’s more intriguing figures.
