President McKinley appoints William Cary Sanger as the "Assistant Secretary of War"

Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 21.75 x 17.75, March 14, 1901. President McKinley appoints William Cary Sanger of New York as “Assistant Secretary of War.” Signed boldly at the conclusion by William McKinley, and countersigned by Secretary of War Elihu Root. The blue War Office seal remains affixed to the lower left. Affixed to a same-size cardstock mount and in very good to fine condition, with chipping, toning, and staining to the edges, easily matted out.
