Two production hand-painted 12-field color model cels for the limited edition Popeye cels ‘Dynamite Muscle’ and ‘Let’s Rumble,’ both of which were released by Myron Waldman in the 1990s. The ‘Dynamite Muscle’ cel, which shows Popeye on a ship’s deck holding a can of spinach and flexing his bicep that contains a bundle of dynamite, features a character image size of 5.5 x 9.25; and the ‘Let’s Rumble’ cel, which depicts Popeye and Brutus squaring off in a boxing match with Wimpy officiating, features total character image of 9 x 7.5. Both cels are placed on matching color lithographs that approximately measure 14 x 11. The lower right of the ‘Dynamite’ cel bears a 1990 King Features seal, and the ‘Rumble’ cel is accompanied by a matching production drawing, accomplished in graphite on an untrimmed 12.5 x 10.5 animation paper marked “#56,” and the upper right stamped “Duplicate.” In overall fine condition.
