Attractive pair of production key master background set-ups for limited edition Popeye cels, both consisting of vibrant hand-painted 16-field color model cels placed over matching hand-painted production backgrounds. The first is for the limited cel ‘The Birdie,’ which contains two production cels that depict Popeye golfing and dropping a putt over a small black bird, with the total character image measuring 8.75 x 10, and the first cel signed in black felt tip by Myron Waldman. The second is for an untitled limited edition Christmas cel, which contains one cel that shows Popeye, Olive Oyl, Wimpy, Eugene the Jeep, and Swee'Pea decorating a Christmas tree, with the total character image measuring 10.5 x 12.5. The backgrounds, which both measure 13.5 x 17.5, are marked as “The Birdie” and “Prototype,” respectively. In overall fine condition, with trivial marks, and light edgewear that could be easily matted out.
