Eminent Viennese composer (1825–1899) known as the 'Waltz King,' who is remembered for such classics as 'The Beautiful Blue Danube' and the 'Emperor Waltz,' and for the operetta staple, 'Die Fledermaus.' Unsigned handwritten note in German by Johann Strauss II on both sides of one of his personal calling cards, 4 x 2.5, imprinted with his name in a simple, cursive script: "Johann Strauss." Strauss writes, in full (translated): "Kindly asks you to assist Mr. Cranz in obtaining those numbers which he does not yet have: Warm greetings from yours truly." In fine condition.
