War-dated mailing envelope, 6.25 x 4.25, hand-addressed by Dwight D. Eisenhower to his wife, Mamie, “Mrs. Dwight D. Eisenhower, Wordman Park Hotel, Washington, DC, (208-H),” with Eisenhower incorporating his signature to the return address field, “Eisenhower.” Next to his surname, another hand has added “Lt. Gen. Cmdg. ETOUSA [European Theater of Operations, United States Army].” Postmarked at Washington, D.C. on September 15, 1942.” The reverse flap is marked “Headquarters, United States Army in The British Isles.” In fine condition.
