Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the daughter of the recipient: “Polydor Records does have a significant history in Chingford, particularly regarding its Polygram Record Operations Ltd. which included the PRS Ltd pressing plant and recording/mastering studios in the Chingford/Walthamstow area, later renamed Universal Music Operations Ltd. The studios, including the ones in Chingford, were established by Polygram in 1983. While there are no specific Polydor Records offices or physical locations in Chingford today, the history of the label's operations there is relevant. My dad was a serving PC in the Walthamstow police and was present when Elton John landed his helicopter in the Salisbury Hall Fields in Chingford/Walthamstow next to Polydor Records and managed to get his autograph.”
