TLS signed “Cole,” one page, 7.25 x 10.5, The Towers of The Waldorf-Astoria letterhead, October 26, 1956. Letter to award-winning lyricist and librettist Alan Jay Lerner, in full: “My ‘subscription’ seats for MY FAIR LADY arrived, and I can't tell you how deeply I appreciate it. From now on, any time you happen to be in your theatre and want a companion between the acts, I shall be there (on Wednesday nights). If there are other people whom I should thank, please let me know.” In fine condition, with a tiny ding to the left edge, and some creasing and a short tear to the bottom. Accompanied by a 1949 Western Union Telegram sent by Porter to Lerner and Frederick Loewe ("Great success for tonight. Thank you for invitation. So sorry I can't be there"), and a 1958 transmittal letter from Porter's secretary, sending thanks to Lerner and Loewe on behalf of Porter for a basket of Easter flowers.
