French composer (1838–1875) whose operatic masterpiece, Carmen, was completed just before his untimely death from heart disease. ALS in French, one page, 5.25 x 8.25, no date. Boldly penned handwritten letter to a lady, in full (translated): "Yes, not three times but a thousand times. Until Monday, and believe always, Madame, in the respectful affection of your sincere admirer." In fine condition, with toning along the edges.
