(MGM Studios, 1953) Original limited edition cel of Tom and Jerry entitled ‘Dangerous When Wet,’ numbered 43/500, signed in black felt tip by Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera, and by actress Esther Williams, who starred in the film as Katie Higgins, a young woman who wants to swim across the English Channel. The cel, which is placed on a matching studio copy background of Williams swimming underwater, was inspired by a dream sequence in the film where Williams performs an underwater ballet with Tom and Jerry. Character images measure 6.75 x 9.5 (Tom) and 3 x 4.5 (Jerry), with overall dimensions of 20 x 15. In fine condition, with trivial edgewear to the background. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Clampett Studio Collections.
