Influential English art critic and writer (1819-1900) remembered as a champion of the work of J.M.W. Turner. ALS signed “J.R.,” one page, 5 x 6.75, February 11, [no year]. Handwritten letter to printer Henry Jowett at the firm of Hazell & Watson, discussing the design format for a new edition of his work The Stones of Venice. Affixed to a slightly larger page and in very good to fine condition, with scattered light stains, and a piece of old tape over a small area of loss to the right edge.
