World War II–dated German-issue MG 34/42 ammo can with working latches, measuring 14˝ x 6.75˝ x 3.5˝, stamped "1941" on top of the lid. Within is a belt fitted with 53 rounds of marked 1939 7.62mm armor piercing rounds, the belt also bearing a starter tab. In overall very good condition, with various dings and wear from heavy use. The MG 34 and MG 42 were mainstay machine guns of the Wehrmacht during World War II.
