Partly-printed vellum DS, signed “George R,” one page, 13.5 x 10, April 1, 1761. King George III appoints William Thorn "to be Cornet to that Troop…in Our Sixth or Inniskilling Regiment of Dragoons, commanded by Our Trusty and Welbeloved James Cholmondeley Esq'r Lieutenant General of Our Forces." Signed at the head in ink by King George III. In very good to fine condition, with overall soiling, and the paper seal detached but present.
